Many Israelis oppose the behavior of their government as do many Jews in the United States and elsewhere. Also, many "Zionists" are naive people whose idealism has been co-opted by corrupt elements.
To talk of "Israel", "Jews" and even "Zionists" as the problem is ignorant and counterproductive. It is the Israeli war party and their supporters in the US that is the problem.
At public meetings, I insist that this distinction is made and I am surprised by how many professional critics of the war party dismiss its importance. It's a VERY important distinction.
The African National Congress (ANC) was designated as a terrorist organisation by South Africa's old apartheid regime. Since that time, things changed. Apartheid is not legal anymore, Nelson Mandela was released from prison, and the ANC became the government.
Other things have not changed: all ANC leaders, including Nelson Mandela, are still tagged as 'terrorists' in US security databases and need to get a special waiver to enter the US.
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has now asked for the "embarrassing" travel restrictions to be lifted. Good. I am happy the US administration is keeping up with the fast moving pace of world politics. The ANC has been South Africa's governing party since 14 years. (Full)
Soon, one embarrassment less. Some more challenges still to tackle, though. Like convincing US President Bush statements like "Mandela is dead" is not really OK. Not really.
It might have something to do with the fact that Mandela has never been short of criticism on US politics or the current US presidency. Remember that back in 2003, he commented: "If there is a country that has committed unspeakable atrocities in the world, it is the United States of America. They don't care." Mandela was rather specific on Bush too: "What I am condemning is that one power, with a president who has no foresight, who cannot think properly, is now wanting to plunge the world into a holocaust (referring to the Iraq war)." Jesus Camp follows several young children as they prepare to attend a summer camp where the kids will get their daily dose of evangelical Christianity. Becky Fischer works at the camp, which is named Kids on Fire. Through interviews with Fischer, the children, and others, Jesus Camp illustrates the unswerving belief of the faithful.
A housewife and homeschooling mother tells her son that creationism has all the answers. Footage from inside the camp shows young children weeping and wailing as they promise to stop their sinning. Child after child is driven to tears. Juxtapose these scenes with clips from a more moderate Christian radio host (who is appalled by such tactics), and Jesus Camp seems to pose a clear question: are these children being brainwashed?

"Inside Job" shows that thousands of eye witnesses and millions of live TV viewers heard and heard about MULTIPLE explosions in the Twin Towers that preceded their sudden and inexplicable collapse.
"The 9/11 Solution" shows that even as the World Trade Center was burning and immediately after the collapses, a stream of disinformation laying down the key official 9/11 myths was being actively being put in place via the US mass media (i.e. the impact of the planes weakened the structures, the "intense" fires caused the collapses, Bin Laden was the only possible suspect.)

Smoking Gun #3: Where is the wreckage of Flight 93? It supposedly crashed on the ground in Pennsylvania, not into a building and not into the Pentagon.
All that was left was a small hole in the ground and no wreckage.

No plane, no crash site, no nothing
It's a great story.
The passengers of Flight 93 heroically rallied together and attacked the hijackers in an attempt to wrest control of the plane.
One of them even called it in to his wife and narrated the attack as it was happening: "Let's roll!"
There are just a few problems with this story:
1. Your cell phone won't work in the air. Try it sometime.
2. The call to the wife was not direct. It was narrated to the wife by an unnamed and still unidentified "operator."
3. No plane crashed in Pennsylvania on 9/11.
Other than these three facts, it's a hell of a story, isn't it?
100+ security cameras...but not one video of the plane that supposedly struck the building.
Many witnesses described the object that struck the Pentagon as a SMALL, white, WINDOWLESS "commuter jet" with NO MARKINGS - exactly what commonly used winged missiles look like.

No matter what you think about 9/11, you have to agree that we'd be a very different country without it.
There have been three massive traumas to the American psyche since World War II.

It's my contention that each one of the Big Three traumas that has distorted the American character was deliberately manufactured.

First, the Cold War.
Second, the Kennedy Assassination.
Third, 9/11.
The Cold War is a large topic and for the time being I'm going to leave it, but if you've never looked at 9/11 in the context of the first Kennedy assassination, you might find it eye opening.
***Parallels between the Kennedy assassination and 9/11***
1. Both were massively traumatic events for the entire nation
2. In both cases, the guilty party was immediately and conclusively determined before there was time for any kind of reasonable investigation
3. In order to accomplish the attack, the guilty party had to exhibit near superhuman powers - Oswald had to make an impossible shot with a defective rife...Osama bin Laden had to evade the full force of the US air defense
4. Evidence counter to the official story was quickly destroyed and supporting evidence seemed to appear "magically"
5. Witnesses with stories counter to the official story had their comments removed from news reports
6. News media accepted the official story - in spite of numerous holes - lock, stock and barrel without question.
7. Accused "assassins" were killed shortly after (or during) the attack
8. The event facilitated a massive; catastrophic; pointless; and - before the attack - unthinkable - war of aggression
9. The wars generated billions of dollars for corporate allies of the president in power (Johnson after JFK assassination and Bush after 9/11)
10. Both attacks took place in corrupt cities where the mayors could be counted on to walk the party line and not ask questions
11. Elements of the US military were involved (no military intelligence units in Dallas, botching of the autopsy for Kennedy and stand down of the US air defense for 9/11)
12. The vast majority of US citizens don't buy the official story, but the news media - mainstream and foundation supported "alternative" refuse to examine their legitimate concerns.

It collapsed like a controlled demolition without being struck by anything and after suffering only a very minor fire.
No other modern skyscraper in history has ever collapsed this way on its own.

Dutch demolition expert Danny Jowenko was shown video of the collapse of WTC 7 by a Dutch television crew which captured his first reactions to images of the collapse.
Before seeing the video, Jowenko had not been aware that a THIRD building collapsed in the World Trade Center complex on September 11.
In fact, he initially had difficulty believing the collapse of a third building actually happened.
Viewing the video, he had no doubt that was brought down by a controlled demolition.
Relating the logistics required to carry out such a task raises the obvious question: When were these charges placed?
Could the estimated team of 30 demolition technicians have placed the charges after the morning's attack while the building was on fire? Jowenko's professional bafflement is clearly visible.

Also baffling is how aluminum hulled planes penetrated the solid steel structure of the World Trade Center towers.
* The towers collapsed.
* There was one large and dramatic explosion in each building (reported) followed by numerous additional explosions (unreported.)

I wonder how many realize the profound significance of the recent subpoena of Karl Rove by the House Judiciary Committee.
Let me lay it out for you.
If what Karl Rove did to the US election rolls is not corrected by November, John McCain has already been elected president. This subpoena is the LAST chance to set things right.
I can't imagine anything more important than this information being added to the public debate.
If a total tool like McCain is elected, he's going to make the depredations of Bush administration look like child's play.
